Heavy duty castors – robust mobility solutions for heavy loads

Blickle’s heavy duty castors are made in Germany and are well known for their outstanding quality and rugged properties. They are used in a wide variety of settings across the world, especially for intralogistics and machine and systems engineering applications. Blickle is an expert in the design of heavy-duty castors, whether swivel or fixed castors in a robust design, and always uses high-quality components. These are the factors which elevate Blickle’s extensive standard range above its competitors. From heavy duty wheels made of nylon or steel, elastic solid rubber tyres or polyurethane treads, the wheels used in Blickle heavy duty castors have a diameter of up to 1000 mm and can handle loads up to 50,000 kg. The table below provides an overview of Blickle’s heavy duty castors and the different wheel types which they use:

PU wheels and PU castors – abrasion resistant and durable The right tread for every application. Extrathane®, Softhane®, Besthane®, Besthane® Soft, Vulkollan®

Blickle has developed four different polyurethane types, tailor-made for different applications. Comprehensive expertise from decades of experience has been put into the Extrathane®, Softhane®, Besthane® and Besthane® Soft treads. This range is complemented by wheels made out of the equally high-quality polyurethane material Vulkollan®. This selection means that Blickle’s standard range has the right solution for almost any application. Special polyurethanes for high dynamic and mechanical loads as well as conductive and optimised rolling resistance versions round out the product range. All treads have a consistently high quality level, wear-resistance and resilience.

Industrial castors - all-rounder for every application

ndustrial castors - your reliable guarantee for fast and efficient transport of goods. Are you wondering how Blickle meets these demands? Through outstanding material expertise and manufacturing technology. Blickle offers a wide range of industrial castors - whether transport castors, heavy-duty castors, swivel castors or fixed castors - with load capacities ranging from just a few kilograms to several tonnes and a wide variety of treads. The standard product range also includes electrically conductive versions, cold and heat resistant castors and corrosion resistant castors. The use of high-quality materials and compliance with low tolerances are important for industrial castors. This is how Blickle ensures robust and durable wheels and castors that can be used in all industries and applications. However, it is not only the quality of the industrial castor that is essential, but also the selection of the right castor. Blickle offers optimum service via the online guide or personal contact partners to ensure that the right castor is selected for the respective application.

Blickle guide rollers for every application - Keeping the world moving

Guide rollers keep things moving smoothly in a number of different areas and help to transport loads safely by making sure that they always follow the same linear path along a guide or rail.
They are used for a wide variety of applications, both indoors and outdoors:

  • in sorting facilities (airport luggage sorting, packet sorting, logistics centres)

  • as guide elements in machines

  • in production plants

  • in lifts and escalators

  • in conveyor belts

  • in offshore cranes

Generally speaking, guide rollers come in two different varieties: guide wheels and running wheels. Guide wheels are used in machines or gates to facilitate linear motion. These wheels are usually put under frequent but brief loads. Running wheels, on the other hand, are usually designed to withstand constant loads. They are frequently used in conveyor systems.

Container castors

Many industries face the challenge of moving containers efficiently, safely and flexibly. Choosing the right castors is crucial. Not only must they withstand extreme loads, but they must also meet the specific requirements of different applications:

Stable support: The container must rest securely on the castors with minimal play to ensure precise and reliable handling.

Compact design: The low mounting height of the castors makes it easy to manoeuvre through low hall doors or in confined spaces.

High load capacity: Despite the limited space, the castors must reliably support high loads.

Secure locking: To prevent uncontrolled rolling, the castors must securely lock the container when the brakes are engaged – even under heavy loads.

Ergonomic design: Despite their robust construction, castors should be designed to allow ergonomic and effortless assembly.

These requirements demonstrate the importance of a well thought out design for the safe and efficient transport of containers.

Anti static castors – safety for sensitive areas

Electrically conductive wheels and antistatic wheels and castors are used in almost every industrial setting, from medical engineering, electrical and semi-conductor industries to the automotive industry, hospitals, pharmaceuticals and other chemical industrial sectors. These wheels and castors are used everywhere protection against electrostatic discharge is required. Operators and sensitive goods are particularly susceptible to the electrostatic discharge that can be generated by transport units or by transported goods. ESD wheels and castors can be used to prevent these discharges. A wheel or a castor is regarded as electrically conductive if its ohmic resistance does not exceed 104 Ω. These wheels and castors have the product code suffix -EL or -ELS. A wheel or a castor is regarded as having antistatic properties if its ohmic resistance does not exceed 107Ω. To meet these requirements, Blickle tests the wheels and castors on a special test bench in line with DIN EN 12527. Measurements are taken at three different points on the tread of the wheel to ensure that electrostatic potential can be safely dissipated, even in critical applications. Blickle provides a total of 13 different series with an antistatic or electrically conductive version to meet a variety of requirements. These series use rubber, synthetic, metal, cast iron or polyurethane treads. More information about conductivity and the treads used by the wheels is available in our guide.
